Lamont Foletta - Lamont Foletta is the brother of Delphine Estrada and was the brother-in-law to William Estrada Sr. Lamont is very proud of Italian/Swiss heritage. His father, Joe Foletta, had a large influence on the development of Lamont's work ethic and his sense of values.
Lamont is proof that you can be an integral part of the Estrada Ranch even though you have no interest in hunting. Lamont was the first man we know of to set a fashion trend for the ranch crew. Few guys would think of wearing shorts, a tank top and cowboy boots at the same time, especially in the presence of other guys. Lamont not only had the courage to wear this outfit, but he actually encouraged others to follow suit. On one occasion after having had a few drinks, Murray said Lamont looked pretty good in that outfit.
There are many reasons why everyone enjoys Lamont's company. One of them is not his story telling. We are still waiting to hear the end to a story he started telling us on opening weekend 1999. Lamont's stories contain so many pregnant pauses you find yourself hoping he will abort the story.
You wouldn't know it to look at him in that fancy getup of his, but he can be the most patient, understanding and forgiving man on the planet. Many nights at the poker table Lamont would put up with the juvenile antics of the ranch crew for hours without complaining. When John Correia would take forever to deal cards or bet on a hand, Lamont would be the only one patiently waiting for activity to resume. Lamont's generosity cannot be overstated. It was obvious to all of us on many occasions that Lamont would throw money into the pot and bet on a losing hand just so his nephews and cousins would win a hand once in a while.
Lamont is also known for bringing a supply of snack food for the ranch crew every opening weekend. Usually his supply of snacks would last the entire hunting season. Lamont's wife Marilyn deserves our thanks for contributing to the snacks we all enjoy.
If asked, Lamont would probably say the Estrada Ranch has brought much pleasure to his life. And it is also true that Lamont has given more of himself to the ranch than he will ever take from it, and we will always treasure his company.
